Village Code and the Department of Inspectional services requires permits be granted for nearly all residential, commercial and industrial work including, carpentry, concrete, plumbing, fencing, roofing, masonry, signage, electrical, fire safety and HVAC .  For questions on whether or not a permit is required for the work you are planning, please contact the Village of Franklin Park Department of Inspectional Services at (847) 671-8245 or by e-mail at inspections@vofp.com.

As part of the permit process, the Village of Franklin Park requires a plan review, on submitted drawings, of all new residential, commercial and industrial buildings. Additions, Remodeling, Structural modifications, Garages and Decks are typically reviewed. Reviews are performed in order to comply with local, State and Federal codes. Drawings must be supplied at the permit application time.

On December 21, 2009, the Village Board of Trustees adopted more recent versions of national and state building codes as well as amendments to those codes.
