GRAND AVENUE BRIDGE REPAIR

 

PROJECT: GRAND AVENUE BRIDGE REPAIR consists of spot painting of approximately 256 square feet of structural steel, structural repairs to the bridge and digital sign, caulking approximately 1015 linear feet of various widths on the retaining wall architectural treatment. for the Village of Franklin Park.

 

BID DEADLINE10:00AM LOCAL TIME, WEDNESDAY July 29th, 2020.

 

NOTICE: Sealed proposals for the GRAND AVENUE BRIDGE REPAIR will only be received by The Village of Franklin Park, Illinois, at the office of the Village Clerk, 9500 Belmont Avenue, Franklin Park, Illinois 60131, until the Bid Deadline. Each proposal shall be submitted in an opaque envelope prior to the time and date set forth in the Bid Deadline. Each proposal shall be addressed to the Village Clerk and shall bear on the face of the envelope the name of the bidder and a statement that it is to be opened for the contract at the date and hour as set forth in the Bid Deadline. Immediately after the Bid Deadline, proposals will be publicly opened and read aloud. Notwithstanding the foregoing, the Village reserves the right to defer, postpone, delay, or reschedule the Bid Opening for such time and to such date as the Village, in its sole discretion, determines is in the best interest of the Village.

 

BID SECURITY: Bid Security in the amount of not less than five (5) percent of the Bid shall accompany each Bid in the form of bid bond, cash, certified check, cashier's check or draft payable to The Village of Franklin Park.

 

CONTRACT SECURITY: The Bidder to whom a Contract is awarded shall be required to furnish either both a Performance Bond and a Payment Bond or an Irrevocable Letter of Credit acceptable to the Village for 100 percent of the Contract Price, in accordance with the requirements of the Contract Documents.

 

AWARD OF CONTRACT AND RIGHTS RESERVED: The Contract shall be awarded to the lowest responsible bidder based on criteria set forth by the Village. The Village reserves the right to reject any and all Bids or award each schedule individually, to waive any informalities or technicalities in bidding. The Village shall, in its sole discretion, determine what does or does not constitute an informality or technicality, and, in submitting a Bid, the Bidder agrees to be bound by that determination. No contract will be awarded to any person or entity that is in arrears to the Village of Franklin Park, Illinois upon any debt or contract with the Village of Franklin Park, Illinois, or who is a defaulter as to surety or otherwise upon any obligation to the Village of Franklin Park, Illinois

 

WAGE RATES AND INSURANCE: The successful Bidder will be required to furnish certificates and policies of insurance as stated in Article 5.04 of the Supplemental Conditions. CONTRACTORS must provide Certified Monthly Payroll Reports showing compliance with the Employment of Illinois Workers on Public Works Act, 30 ILCS 570, et seq., and the Illinois Prevailing Wage Act, 820 ILCS 130/.01 et seq.

PROJECT: QUIET ZONE SAFETY MEASURES involves establishing a quiet zone along the Metra railway through Franklin Park and consists of the removal and replacement of approximately 100 LF of concrete curb & Gutter, 150 SY of concrete/asphalt driveways, 500 SF of concrete sidewalk, installation of 280 LF reflective channelization devices, 2,500 LF pavement marking, signage, and sod restoration of the disturbed lawn area.

 

BID DEADLINE10:00 AM LOCAL TIME, THURSDAY AUGUST 13th, 2020.  The Village reserves the right to extend the Bid Deadline from this date, as the Village, in its sole discretion, determines is in the best interest of the Village.

PROJECT: 17th AVENUE ALLEY IMPROVEMENTS involves the installation of 1,065 SY of 16 feet wide, 8-inch thick concrete pavement on an existing granular base, and regrading approximately 600 LF of an existing drainage ditch adjacent to the proposed paving, located within the Milwaukee, St. Paul & Sault Ste. Marie railroad right of way.
